The weather can get quite hot and very humid during the summer months. During the day, the temperatures average between 80°F to 84°F or 26.7°C to 28.9°C. The humidity level can reach up to 100%, especially right before rainstorms.

Keep an eye on the radar since there can be thunderstorms throughout the whole summer and make sure you have water bottles for each person.

The summer is the busiest time for tourists in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, as it is in most National Parks across the country. Since many families are more available during the summer, you get larger groups coming to the park for camping than during other times of the year.

Fall (23 September to 20 December)

At the beginning of the fall season, you can expect about 74°F or 23°C during the day and 56°F or 13°C at night. Towards the end of the Fall, the daytime temperatures hit around 50°F or 10°C and 36°F or 2°C at night.

The temperatures are comfortable, ranging between daily averages as the months descend into winter.

Fall is one of the most beautiful times to explore the Cuyahoga National Park since it features the best foliage and some of the most comfortable temperatures of the year. It rains much less during the fall as well, so you don’t have to be as worried about being caught in a rainstorm.

Winter (21 December to 19 March)

The temperatures during the day range from 34°F to 39°F or 1.1°C to 3.9°C. At night, the temperature will almost always be below freezing, sometimes far below.

The averages are between 20°F to 26°F or -6.7°C to -3.3°C. On average, Ohio receives around 2-3 inches of snowfall per month during the winter.

Winters in Ohio can be brutally cold during their worst moments. It also varies from year to year. Some winters are not as bad and will see less snow and more mild days.

These can be great for exploring the frozen tundra that the National Park becomes.

Spring (20 March to 20 June)

Cuyahoga Valley National Park - Spring

The temperatures average between 48°F to 72°F, or 8.9°C to 22.2°C during the day. If you camp during the spring, use a waterproofing spray on your tent before your trip.

At night, be prepared for colder temperatures and drizzly nights if you’re camping here. On average the nights can dip below freezing at the beginning of the season. The temperature ranges from 30°F to 51°F or -1.1°C to 10.6°C. 

Spring is one of the milder seasons of the year. It warms up quickly starting in March, but it is also the rainiest season. This is the best time of the year for wildflowers, particularly during April and May.
